i dont know what it is but i have something similar and its growing well. :good:

it is a draceana (non aquatic) it will rot in a few month but there have been exceptions. Never buy plants with white on them.

ok cheers aaron have to say im a bit cheesed off cos its a lovely plant

mine is aquatic but its a similar shape. it has almost tripled in size.

have to say i find it strange that a fish store which is usually extremely reliable would have a non aquatic plant tho

It was and still is common practise for people just to replace plants when they start do die, I know the lfs I work in has loads of non-aquatic marsh plants (like this one here) and people still buy them knowing this.

As aron says, this plant is Dracaena sanderiana, it can easily survive being submerged for up to a few months and will put out new roots, maybe a couple of leaves if your lucky. But eventually it will just rot and die, or get covered in algae and die.

My local MA stock none aquatics, but they tell people this before purchase. They buy them in as some people still buy them for some colour as they are slower rotting than if you were to purchase a red aquatic plant!

ok thanks guys very helpful as usual. think i will stick to plants alive as they are good and it states if a plant is not truly aquatic

Interesting. Are you tellling me that my aluminum plants will be dead soon? That would make sense...lol.
