hi. i think this may have come about after an attempted breeding scurry and a lil mouth fighting which happens once every month or so. i noticed she sustained a small piece of damage as some of the skin had come off, i ignored it at first as my male showed the same injuries after he got himself stuck in an ornament and i had to pull and push him out but he was fine and skin grew back fast, but my females lip since their last lil scurry has developed a white spot on it like a white dimple. this makes me think its bacterial and im wondering should i try to treat it or just let it take its course and watch for any signs of getting worse?

I would look into a Bacterial med, or a fungal med. Do not get Melafix or Pimafix, the med is wimpy, and wont do much good.

will i be able to use a med in my main tank? will it affect my filter? just want to know befor i go buying something. ive got a 1ft'r i could do the beds in but that would probably require me messing with its ph and buying a heater for it as its just a cold water with 2 comets in it.

No, it shouldnt effect your filter. I would run the med in the tank, because hte other fish might be effected.

OH GOODO. that takes a lot of stress off knowing i dont have to try and rehouse her for a couple of days in a tank almost as small as her or a tank which has housed 2 comets for like 4 years LOL. funny thing is its a 2ft tank yet neither of them have grown from the standard size we bought them 4 years ago at LOL.

at the moment i probably wont have the meds till tommorrow or the day after due to uni and my work schedual. id say ill be able to make it down tommorrow to get them though, can anyone recomend any meds to buy, ill probably buy a few for the future.

can i expect any changes from the lil fluff ball that currently has me worried? if it is bacterial or fungal will it get much worse in the next few days? and can you tell me whether its just something which will take its course then heal up or will it deffinately worsen and possible death? thanks. i just want to know what im dealing with even though i will begin medicating tommorrow at earliest unless they happen to stay open till 6 30 in which case i will get the meds after uni lecture today "_" <<MMMMM COFFEE. HAS ANYONE SEEN MY COFFEE????????

OO Just to add, shes been very quiet and sitting at the back of the tank at the bottom for the last few days starting friday when i added 3 hemichromis bubs and 2 labidochromis bubs and a frontosa and 6 plants into the tank. could this be because she no longer has all the space to swim back and forth up and down across the front of the tank like she used to?

in my standard 4ft tank i currently have
2 Silver dollars
2 pleco's
8 small labidochromis
1 julidochromis
6 hemichromis (small)
2 hemichromis(large)
1 unkown (light/dark blue striped running horizontally and pink mouth)
2 frontosa (7 bar)
3 peacocks

at the moment i think theres enough space and the filter is holding up well with all stats showing 0 and nitrate 10 which its always shown and ph 7.1 i know a bit low but im currently bringing it up.(btw will silver dollars and pleco's handle the 8.0 ph if i get it up there? but i am probably going to order 3 4ft tanks and a 12 foot tank for outside tommorrow when i get paid and am going to start cycling hopefully by next week along with plumbing up my saltwater tanks :). so there will be enough room when everyone grows.
