Looks good :D
Im sure your aware but watch that hammer...it looks close in the pic, but it may not be, but just letting you know :D

Curious how this one develops... Keep em comin CF

Your not the only one Ski. I have got everything crossed that my urchin doesn't take a fancy to it . I think things hopefully will be fine if he just leaves it alone. I have had to tack it down with some 'putty' as he keeps knocking it off ; I am praying the elegance likes it where he is placed.

Fingers crossed

Regards

Got up this morning and went through the usual routine of switching lights on, defrosting food etc. Anyway the elegance had a dilated oral disc  I thought $*%! Ski mention this in the information thingy 'quick feed it'. I did target feeding and it worked; the coral munched on brine shrimp and is now looking happy once more. I thought it looked kind of cool when it was feeding so I could not resist to posted some pictures. I think it kind of looks like a clam...... with tentacles :shifty:. The last picture shows the oral disc in its normal configuration Amen...

Regards

Has anyone had trouble with elegance in the past? If you have could you leave the details of the problem/demise of the coral thanks.

Have you noticed how the firefish always seems to have his head in the pictures????

Regards

Remember CF, ECS is not just an inflated oral disk, it's also bleaching and drastically short tentacles. At this time I would NOT call that ECS. It doesn't look fully happy yet, likely moving stress, so give it some time, but it should look up in a few days. The fact that it's eating is a great sign. I'd feed it every other day if it'll take foods.

I totally agree not ECS but not fully happy. If there is one thing that I have learnt while in the marine game is being proactive is much much much better than being reactive. (Alan sugar comes to mind when I was writing that, sounds like something you hear at a business seminar  ). Anyway wanted to make sure he was healthy and reasonably happy at this early point in the transition and he ate :good: .
Why feed every other day? Is there a reason for that specifically? Why not every day or twice a week? Just curious....

Regards

It's theoretically possible to overfeed corals, especially some fleshy LPS. This can result in either poor health, or just loss of apetite of the coral, either of which would be cause for you to freak out ;). You could also go twice a week, that's no big deal. Reason I suggest every other day is cause it's pretty easy to remember... Either that, or something like Monday Wednesday Friday and if you miss a day no big deal.

Hows the elegance doing CF? Mine is wide open now a days and readily accepts mysis. Hope we both luck out and get some healthy specimens.

Ox :good:
