Hi,

Somebody please help me!
My beloved Pearl Gourami has developed serious pop eye in one eye.
It is really bad.
It's only in one eye and I have read that this is most likely due to an injury but I have changed 25% of the water just in case it's the water quality.
He has been like this for 3 days now and it is still getting worse.
He is still eating, although not much.
I have been dosing with Melafix just in case it is a bacterial thing but it doesn't appear to be helping.

Should I remove him and treat him separately? I dont have another tank so this is a bit difficult to do.

I have read that Epson Salts may be good but I have some loaches in the tank and I think they dont do well with salt. Is this right or wrong?

Shall I give him a salt bath?

Any ideas?

Is he likely to die? Lose his eye?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

T

Well the melafix is not working if its getting worse.
You need to change med.
anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
United states maracyn.
Popeye is closely related to dropsy because of the build up of fluids.
