wow if u want plants but want low maintenace get some Java Fern, Amazon Sword or Anubias. stem plants can get annoying but my amazon sword has just been growing really slowly for a long time, barely any maintenace. also anubias and java fern just dont die and are slow gro.

Seconded on the Java Fern - I have fake plants in my coldwater setup and I spend more time repositioning them because they've been dug up than I do on the Java Fern in two of my other tanks. They are very hardy and zero maintenance - and I'm pretty sure they're cheaper than fake plants.

Thanks you two. Will i need a Co2 set up for the plants? I've had plants befre in the 4ft I had before and had Co2 set up in there. I didn't really notice any difference it made. Had Vallis, Java fern, Amazon sword, a few red plants that i can't remember name of and some tropical lillies. I love planted tanks but can't be arsed with the maintenence side of it.

This is the female. Her anal fins are more curved. The male in the other picture has longer straighter fins.

I was gonna buy a 6x2x2, but looking at that, a 5x2x2 looks big enough for me !

Cheers Johno. I was going to get a 6x2x2 but didn't have enough space in my living room. 5x2x2 is still a big tank though, I still haven't had chance to get a background yet. Its amazing the difference from the 4x15x18 I had before. Would love more fish but stocked to the limit now.
