I wanted to share some photos of my new addition!! Is he/she a chocolate Pleco??

You can tell by the trim on the bottom of the tank how big he is. The trim is only like 2 inches or less!:

This is the only pict where I actually got some of his coloring. Does it look like a chocolate pleco?:

I have the exact same pleco and I bought it as a "yellow" pleco....hope that helps. :thumbs:
 
I suppose it does a little :crazy: but I wonder what it really is :shifty:

How big is yours.....any advice/comments on them that you could give me would be really appreciated!

It's a choco pleco alright, i got one just like it, mines about 4"-5"

PS....how big are the both of yours now??
 
I think they grow to about 18", when i got mine it was tiny, but its grown very quick, i feed all my plecos algae wafers and courgett which they love.

Oh my gosh they get HUGE!!!

How fast do they grow, anyone know??

They do kind of look albino with the red looking eyes.

I have the same pleco and it was sold as a chocolate. I have only had him for a couple weeks now, and he is still quite small (maybe 2"). I was told that he should reach about 6".
 
hmmm, i was under the assumption that chocolates were just a variation of the common plec................ and since they get huge, decided against. anyone know for sure if the chocolate is a different species and what size it gets?? because they're realitively inexpensive around here and i've been looking to replace my lost clown plecs..........................
 
Oh man...................18"........what have I gotten myself into.

12" would be fine, I think :blink: , but EIGHTEEN INCHES!!! Holy CR*P!!!

I feel bad now.

That is the exact same pleco though NIDGE.

The Common Pleco that I see photos of are really dark in color........does that matter???

Same species, just an albino version, Hypostomus something. They do look really cute when they are small, but they will get really big :/
