Hi, recently added two 3 spots to my 20 gallon tank. Other inhabitants include 6 WCMM and 6 albino cory's. Along with some cherry's and a lonely ghost.

One gourami has stringy poo. I fed pea's a few days ago and it went away but has now come back. Same gourami also has a depression in its head that the other gourami doesn't have. Wether this is just a natural variant or something more sinister i do not know.

The gourami is behaving fine, still eating (too much...keep eating my shrimp!) and not swimming at the top or hanging at the bottom.

My water test kit has run out so i can't give you any stats but it's a mature tank (been up and running for about a year) with weekly water changes of around %20.

Filtration= 1 fluval 1 + 1 aquaclear (both ment for a 10gallon i know..but added together..)

I would get your water tested as your tank quite well stocked.
What do you feed your fish.
Long stringy white poo can be constipation, bacterial infection, to internal parasites.
Signs of internal parasites are.
Long stringy white poo or clear mucas poo.
Being thin or bloated.
Bent spine sometimes.
Enlarged anus to red inflamed anus.
Worms prutruding from the anus.

The dented head can be a number of things, any pitting in the head like pencil holes.

Long stringy white poo. no enlarged anus, pitting in the head near the dent, not bloated or thin.

I feed daphnia, bloodworm, tubifex, catfish algae pellets, brine shrimp eggs. All in moderation though, since arrival gourami has mainly been fed on algae pellets and flake food.

I do check my water regularly and it has been fine since cycling. I always keep on top of water changes :) But i will buy a new test kit ASAP

I have litterarly thousands of these & they all look differently....Yea!! and they Poo from stringy bubbled to white strings & different shaped heads.... I do not worry, & they all survive...... I don't think you should worry......

I would try the peas again.
I won't feed my fish frozen tubilex or live as its abit risky.

Any change get back to the board.
Good luck.
