male or female?

hi all, today i got 2 Opaline Gourami. the guy thought these were a pair, but i'd like to make sure.

actually they look like the same sex to me....but im not 100% sure, i wouldd have to see them up close...can tell if theyre male or female, bc i have nothin right ther to compare them to......look at whre you got them and compare them, take pictureds of fish there if your allowd and then we might be able to help you out a lil bit mor...BTW nice fish

The first COULD be the male and the second the female...

It looks like you might have 2 females there.

How do they look when you view them from the top? If you have one of each, the female will have a rounded abdomen and then taper back to the tail. The male will taper more evenly from head to tail.

If you can take pictures of them from that angle, I'd be happy to take another look at them.

P.S. Two females will probably get along with each other better than a pair would.

IMO I think these are both females bud..

i can't get close enough to the tank to take pics, their still nervous.
the second one's dorsal is a little more pointed, but he's only about 1 1/2" while the others about 2".i'll probably have to wait till they hit 3" and see who builds a nest.lol
