Wow he does look cute
thanks 55 gallon dude.............he's my new sweetheart. I was lonely tonight (hubby playing at a show) and grabbed my weenie dog and went to the LFS......... there he was  ................now I am not so lonely! He is doing great in the tank I put him in...............wasn't sure at first.....but he is fine. Flaring at the cories and all........it is so cute, they don't even know what he is doing and ignore him, which makes him even more mad!!!!

I actually have seen a few yellows at my lfs..actually I saw a yellow crown tail a few days ago..and passed it up to buy my mom a fish..now I greatly regret it!
very cute btw;)

Well by george what a beautiful betta! I love him Olive!! :D An interesting piece of info for ya - "yellow" bettas are actually "non-red", since red is one of the basic colors in genetics. However, I think yellow sounds much more exciting than non-red. He's very pretty, almost an eggshell color. And his fins look almost cellophane? Anyways, I can't wait to see more of him, as I'm sure his color will intensify even more.

When I can, I'll have to show you MY yellow betta!! :) Actually more of a gold... but I still think it's pretty interesting to look at different colors that aren't so common.

Congrats sweetie!!

Wow, you have a betta book just screaming to come out of you Julie! You know so much about them! All I know is that I love them, and come to the experts (YOU) for advice when I need it......which isn't very often thank goodness thanks to their hardy nature............

Anyway, the pictures really don't do him justice. He is really darker, but my camera sucks and washes him out. :/ He is golden, with a touch of a light blue to almost silver in some of his fins. I just thought he would be so neat to have, and I was right. He has ended up looking really nice in the tank that I put him in, since the gravel is black......he shows up even more.

It is funny how I have freaked out about his color, since it is such a natural color among some of our other species, like platies, mollies and the like.............all I know is that I have never seen that before and I HAD to get him. Even if that meant I was going to have to set up another tank for him! Thank goodness I didn't have to do that! I had already picked out another one, but couldn't leave him there! I will get some pics of the other one soon, but he is being much more shy and is hiding in the "betta paradise" 3 gallon eclipse. Ya just never know about their personalities, do you?? :dunno: This little golden guy is busy flaring at everyone.......cories, plecos, catfish, danios :fun: ................you name it...........he is so cute thinking he is all big and bad............... :flex: :flex:
