I got a powder blue about 3 weeks ago. powder blues are quite common over here. most lfs don't stock them due to white spot.

Thanks ste

They are actually common here too, but my friend told me that every time he goes to get stock for the LFS the powder blue tang's are in bad shape (not sick) the fins are tore up etc. He told me that they had about 50 or so at the warehouse and he sat their looking at every one of them. The one that I got was the only one that was in perfect condition. That's why he does not get them that often. He is vary picky on what fish he brings back to the LFS.
Well good for me that I got their before they sold it :D

your so lucky you know a lfs owner so well, my uncle has an aquarium, but my dad dosn't like us going in case he thinks were "Taking advantage of him" how long have you been going to the one lfs?

I've been going their for about a year and a half now (at least once a week) My friend and I just hit it off.

Just to give you an idea of how they are with me.
When I got my first tank (65g) they had some dumb a$$ working their. I went in one day and asked him if the 50w heater that I had would be ok for that tank, he told me it will be fine. after a few weeks I had the tank full of fish (no coral it was a fish only tank) All the sudden the fish were getting sick and dying we did every thing we could think of and could not get the fish better. My friend would keep asking about the temp of the water and I would always check and it would be at 78deg. He kept telling me it's got to be the temp but I told him it's always at 78. After losing all the fish (about 15 and at $15 to $35 that hurt) I was going to start over from the beginning. My friend told me before we do that bring in everything heater, filter, lights, water sample everything but the tank so I did. As soon as I walked in I had the heater in my hand and he saw my from across the room and yelled that's the problem in your hand. The heater is too small for that tank during the day when I looked at the temp it was ok because it was warm but at night the temp would drop and the heater was not large enough to keep the water temp stable. I told them that the guy that worked their told it would be ok and if I would have known I would have got a bigger heater. That didn't surprise them, they had just fired him that day for screwing up so bad. Well they felt so bad, they gave me a new 300w heater and replaced all the fish for free.

SH@T gots to go BOSS is coming

That is a cool tank. I wish I had the money to do something like that. Can't wait for more pics.

Why hasn't anyone else done this?

TOTM from me!! That tank deserves TOTM!!

It is bloody awesome...I too am jealous...

I could get past the financial thing of setting up a reef tank but for me I would also need a chiller due to the heat we have here in summer....chillers here start at about $1500

Anyways...the tank is beautiful....keep posting pics!!!

Ok here are some new pic's of what I bought tonight.
first one is a clam about 4" wide
