My Hillstream Loaches

Hey guys,

I have not put pics up here for a while so I thought I would pics up of my gorgeous hillstream loaches.

I have 2 commons and two Chinese ones.

Here's a pic of a common one on a piece of wood.

Here's the underside of a common, through the glass. I can see their hearts bething when they are like that!!

I think the 2 kinds I have are very differetn from each other. I think they look really different and also they act really different. The old ones (common) I have had for about 3 months and they were so shy when I got them and I never see them swimming, they are always on something. The new guys which I got last Saturday were not shy at all when put in the tank and swim quite a lot!!

Hope you like!! I love these little guys, my coldwater tank is shaping up to be just as interesting as my tropicals. Who would have thougtn it possible!?!

hmmm we went a crappy lfs today an they were selling these as butterfly pleco's for fw tanks

can they go in fresh water? or is it just coldwater?

and they were selloin them for 25 quid!! i said no just for the price <<< im a big skinflint.. :blink:

wOw!! That is a lot of wonga!!

Are you sure it was them? There is such a thing as a real butterfly plecs but the look so different! L168 - Butterfly plec and L052 - Butterfly plec. I have the second one :wub:

I hate that they always get mislabeled. I bought them at my lfs for £5 under the same butterfly plec but they get called all sorts! THEY ARE LOACHES!! lol

Yes, they are coldwater fish that don't do well at temps over 77F.

ha u think that was a price they were tryin to say that gupps sell for 3:99!!! for 1!!!!! not a chance mate i got the kid grabbed my aunt (who was about to buy some) and stormed out i mean come on!!! do they think we are all mugs... same as when i pointed out to her that her fighters were all males an all in the same tank (with dead ones on the substrate) that it was wrong an crule she looked at me as if i was a moron.... felt like askin her if shes ever worked for wallmart.....

Oooops, that should have been "don't do well at temps over 75F" not 77F
