My betta lives in a 10 gallon tank with some plants that include a decent amount of duckweed on the surface.... most of my tanks have some duckweed in them, I like the way it looks and it's pretty easy to maintain. My betta likes to incorporate the duckweed into the bubble nests he builds and has all the duckweed in the tank bunched together in a big clump that extends down into the water with his bubble nest all in and around it. As soon as my camera battery charges I'll add a pic or 2. Has anyone else ever had a betta do this? I would dearly love to get him a lady friend but I'm afraid I wouldnt be able to home the fry, should they spawn successfully.

My male dwarf gourami does the same, they are bubble blowers to, in fact he finds any bit of plant he can and uses it.

wait. as in he moved the duckweed?

wow that duckweed looks cool...a bit different to the duckweed we get here in the UK.

Bless your betta, he must love having it there

Yup, most fish which make bubble nests can get very creative with materials. My Dwarf Gouramis have ripped up plant leaves, roots, and anything else he can find to construct his. I have eggs now, so I can't wait for fry!

You're Betta seem's to have done a cracking job mate!

Yep, he does the rearranging himself, even goes so far as to change it up every couple days. Arby is quite the landscaper!

I can't help but feel bad for him with no girlfriends, but I am in no way prepared for the amount of work and time required to deal with betta fry

Here are some shots of my little aquascaper, he was being pretty camera shy and no my hand isnt in the tank in the one shot, its just behind the glass to give some background. the pictures really dont do his color justice, I've never seen such a radiant color of blue before, and thats why I brought him home
He's my first betta since I was a little kid and I am always amazed by how much personality he has :hyper:
