how long till she drops?

Well, I know it must be boring to help all these newbies on here (like myself) on questions about pregnant livebearers.
But maybe you still would be so friendly as to help me decide when to put this female (the one on the left) in a breeding net...
I don't want to stress her to long, being in a small space. But I also don't want to see all the fry get eaten.
I'll appreciate any help, and will let you know who was closest to the correct date!

I, myself, have never kept livebearers so I don't really know.
But from being a member here for a while and seeing lots of photos I CAN say that she looks like she's kind of at the beginning stage of pregnancy.....

Help me out here someone?!! I could have just told this person TOTALLY wrong information :rofl:

I've had her for about 20days (together with a male), in the shop there were no males I think with her.
So I guess, from what I've read here, it could be in a week or so at its earliest? 4 weeks is about the duration of a pregnancy right?

I wouldn't quite yet. Shell get bigger than that before she gives birth.

She's not very far along. Don't wait too long, though, because she could lose the fry if she's too far along when you move her. Put her in before you can make out the eyes. Preferably 3 weeks after insemination or 1 week before the due date. If you don't know when that is, wait for the female to drop. Then add three weeks to that day and place her in the trap then. She should drop a week or so after that.

I'm quite impatient, can't wait to see the first fry

there are 2 other females in a bigger tank, but as they are black, I can't really see how far along they are.

i would only put her in a breeding net if you watch her really carfully because right after she pops them out she'll be gobbling them up

Well, IMO...

You can't really tell how far along a pregnant guppy is unless you know the age....
I had this guppy that stomach was not very big...maybe about 2 weeks pregnant size...but gave birth to 11 frys....
The trick here is to look for anormal behavior which means... heavy breathing, station at an angle, not moving...
This is something I notice about guppies giving birth...they usually do it in the morning...

I think I see the eyes of the fry shining through

the future mum seems quite happy in my self-made breeder net...
