i have been trying to spawn this pair for agaes and im afraid hes not very good

there spawning now with no nest and both eating the eggs but its a start :fun:

whole blood worms would probally be to big for baby bettas they are really tiny at first, think about the size of a grain of sand.. i give mine liquid fry food the first week then decapuslated baby brine shrimo,, just now at 5 weeks they are starting on powered betta pellits, and frozen daphina

Nice Couple :)

IS that a CT ??

Good Luck

Can you feed your frys Freeze Dried BloodWorms??
he's a HM not a CT, he's a bit ragged about the end of the tail, but thats probably from the spawning, most girls will fight back a bit. this post has some pictures of them

you have to be careful feeding freeze dried bloodworm, as when it rehydrate's it swells up, and quite often it rehydrate's inside the fishes stomach, causing bloat. if it causes problems like that in full size adult fish, imagine how it would be with teeny tiny fry, who look like a splinter with eyes, so small you can barely see them!

i feed mine on microworms, waterworms and vinegar eels to begin with, and then start to add freshly hatched baby brine shrimp and "betta starter" dry food when they are a few weeks old. i have fed single bloodworms (live) to some of my biggest fry, now they about 1 1/2 - 2 months old

thats right hes a Hm she has been a bit rough with him,

hes not looking after the eggs now so im unsure of what to do with them before he eats them??

apparently if he's being a crap dad, best bet is to take him out and lower the water level right down low, so the babies can bob up and down on their own until they are free swimming.

my vinegar eels came from America via ebay lol, would have offered to send you some, but bronzecat has beat me to it
