yesterday afternoon I noticed that my siamese fighter was very bloated. At first I thought he'd just helped himself to all the fry which were growing nicely in my community tank, but after a quick head count they were all accounted for. throughout the night he was very lazy not doing much at all apart from swimming to the surface and then back to rest around the tank.

I didn't feed the tank last night as he looks like he's eated far too much as he's done in the past, but did this morning as I didn't want anyone eating the fry.

my tank is a 100L one filtered and has been running for 7 months. All fish have been in there for at least 5 months without deaths or anything much more than the odd bit of white spot.

I'm currently stocking
Male + female siamese fighter
2 neon tetras
6 cherry barb
5 platties with 2 fry
1 catfish cleaner
lots of little snails (should I be worried)

I did a water change on the weekend so all figures are normal.

Any ideas? I can post a pic if needed. he just looks like he's eaten more than he should.

What do you feed your fish.
Can you issolate the betta.
I would only feed peas and no other food.
Cook peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers into small peices and add to the tank.
Epson salt baths help draw the fluids out.
Are the scales sticking out on the fish.

It seems I was too late :-(
