iv got a spotted cory cat and a banjo catfish and i was wondering how long they live. this thought came up when i was looking through the gourami section and found that some can live up to 25 years. i know my black kuhli loaches have been known to live up to 23. i just wanted to know how long i would have these guys if taken care of properly.

Corys are long lived. They can potentially keep up with the kuhli and gourami. :) I am unfamiliar with the banjo.

That's one reason I quit Betta, and I took up Corys. I just couldn't keep the Betta to last. I am always losing them. Now I have 10 or more 2-3 gallon Betta tanks to store.

lol ya i like long lived fish, i just wish i had known about corys before i got one. since its a long term intvestment and all. wow, thats kind of mind boggling to think how old ill be if he/she lives that long. ya id like to find out about that banjo, i read about them before i got one and repetedly i would hear about how ppl absolutly loved them.... they would never move, but they loved them. and it seemed a little strange. but i understand now, they'r really cool fish. that and its cool to have a miniture version of a chaca.

Check in the other catfish forums. We stick pretty much to the Corys, Brochis, Aspidoras, and Steromystax.

have done. banjos can live up to 20 years if properly taken care of. 10ish is more like it though. good luck with your corys :good: :good: im gona try and find some other corys that my spotted one will do well with. the lfs where i got him from doesnt sell them any more :( everybody keeps telling emralds will go well with him but i didnt want to get that kind unless i just had to.
