I have a Jewel vision 180 aquarium filled with about 15 plants and moss. I have gravel about 5-8cm deep and im using the standard jewel filter and T5 lights. I decided to add a DIT CO2 generator and DIY reactor. I have used the output from the standard filter for the reactor and it works well. Its only been on for 24 hours and i have noticed that there is not much if any, water movement due to the reactor... Would this affect plant growth? I have also noticed some brown algae growing on a few of the larger leaves, and have added a pleque which hopefully will cure this. Do i need an extra pump to move the water around? Presumably i need one to mix the CO2 if nothing else. Any ideas would be appreciated. Ta :good:

Add a extra pump.
You need water movement to distribute nutrients and co2 around the tank.

U really need to put the CO2 if u can where the filter outputs its water, that's how i done so the CO2 mixed all around the tank. Maybe if u have air stone it shuold move water allitle.... but really when u watch ur tank cant u see any water movement? U can get the thing that will drive water around ur tank but i wouldn't say is that necessary, maybe some more Ace fish keeper can say their suggestion, tho as i said it not necessary as far as i know as in sure there suold me some movement under watter.

The CO2 is going thru the filter pump outlet and then thru a reactor. it comes out of the bottom but i dont see the plants sway like they use to. the surface is also dead still.
So if i use an extra pump do you have any ideas which one would be suitable?

I have attached a pic of my reactor. looks a bit like there are too many bubbles to me?
PS. This is the mark 1 and im aware that it looks 2 bob! lol
