I would like to add sand and real plants to mine, but i only have my table lamp and sunlight as a source of light

Dont know there names but you can get plants that dont mind low light :good:

Java ferns and Java moss do okay in low light  I LOVE your tank/s Bronzecat! That's a really nice setup.

This is Strudel's tank. Not divided yet but I'm sure in time it will end up that way although I do prefer it as it is and so does he

The last one is a pic of my Betta in the tank before it was planted and had plastic plants in it. Before I came here I didn't even know you could put real plants in a tank!

Chinese algae eaters get big and get aggressive... just FYI. Do a search in the tropical chat section and you'll find plenty of topics from people who have experience with that fish.

Anywho... all of the tanks look fantastic!

Here are my betta tanks...

10gallon divided... about 7gal/3gal. Has 4 females and 1 male CT in it. I wish I knew how to aquascape lol.. I just dont have the patients for it. The plant in the front where the roots are all out of the gravel... I swear I can't get it to stay in the gravel for the life of me.
Tank is also suffering from brown algae and hair algae.

And this is my 3gallon hex tank with its new occupant. Its light is a desk lamp heh. When I got this tank from my mom, she didn't give me the light for it so we had to improvise. It works well though b/c the sword and anubias plants are doing really well.
Only thing bad about this tank.. b/c it's old (probably over 15yrs old).... and b/c it's plastic, it has scratches all in it and limescale buildup on the outside is almost impossible to clean off.

It's nothing fancy, though looking at these other pics, I see mine would be classified as "heavily planted," lol (I've only had him for about 6 weeks, leave me alone! lol). Sweeney seems to like it, though; he plays peekaboo and ring-around-the-rosie. They're all silk plants except the java moss at the front (I only have a little bit wrapped around a little clay pot, the rest is being let to float by itself on the substrate).

It's a 5gal with a heater and filter, and I'm not sure what the substrate is (it's not gravel, but it's not sand... Maybe fine gravel?)

I have a Java Fern and something beginning with c(?) can't recall the name; under a 3w bulb.

Netty; you pick the cutest names! I want a pink-y coloured Betta, or just a Betta ... damn cycling tank! Yours is lovely. I've put a prawn in there, that'll show it who's boss.
