i'm a bit confused??? that tanks got an undergravel filter, so without substrate you can't cycle it.

Its coming out for a normal type filter, it was just for show today for the picies of it setup how it came if you get my drift lol

I can betta that....go to wilkinsons, tank £4.99, nice size for a betta and square, gravel about £1.50, bridge ornament 99p, silky weeds about £1 (dont get the fern ones they foul the water up something rotten), and even water conditioner about £1.29...... about a tenner!!

yeah Wilkinsons amuses me with its fish section, everything is so crappy and lame, but its cheap, so i buy some ornaments from there, the 11litre tank is good value for only 4.99, (2.4 UK gallons), whereas Wilsons charges you 12.99 for a 3 gall (which i bought two of)

The gravel is alright too, although its ugly and cheap (lol)

btw...take that shell out (unless its fake)

it will raise your PH, - not good

I don't think I would ever spend that much on a betta tank  (I guess I'm cheap). I always use large plastic food jugs, they make great tanks. Nice and clear too and I can always replace them easily if they get really scratched. $10 if I want it to look nice, $7 if it doesn't matter.

Haha! I buy .8 US gal containers from the dollar store for, well, a dollar, lol. I just do 2 50% water changes a week and all is well. I'll have my 2 10 gal. setups soon enough though. :hey:

Shells out as soon as i took the pic all come out bar the water

Wilko are very good.
I got some of the aquare vases yesterday. only 3 quid and perfect for a betta.

Also Instore/Range sell acrylic CD/DVD Cubes that are very good size for a fighter.

Or any Housewares shop that does those huge glass/plastic storage jars.
Or I re-use Mars Heroes tubs aswell.
Large Mayo Jars from the 99p shop.

please do not use these for betta's, they are 2 litres big

I really want this but my dad wont let me have it :(

It's good, I've been to the shop and saw it. The plastic is quite thick so I can't see it being a problem.

I have £50, but I found a 160L tank for £35, so I can't have both.

My dad says I can't have either
