Hello Guys

Exactly what it says above....

I have recently added live plants to my tank and seem to have aquired some stoaways!

Hopefully there should be some pictures.....are they snails I should kill or keep??

I have a suspicion they are eating my plants!

An on top of that I have ich aswell!

Any ideas?

If the plants in your tank are tough, the snails won't be able or inclined to eat them until they've died - I suppose so anyway

From the [slight] shell markings in the first picture, it looks like a Neritre snail (perfectly safe and very desirable.) In your second picture, I'm not so sure. Baby snails will do no harm to plants, so don't worry about killing them. They will not breed until much larger. Even then, don't kill them anyway – someone out here will give 'em a home. Loads of us love snails more than plants...!

Defo not Nerites.

Loaches are the best snail killers by far.

Chain loaches for small tanks, zebra loaches for medium and clown for very big.
