all dp fishways current shipment are from halfmoon stock so should be either halfmoons or superdeltas

4-5 weeks then i will be spawning them, going to try and spawn these two together and see what they turn out like

Well i ant going to argue with ya cos i im not good with any tailtypes except VT's lol, and i trust you

I reall need to learn more on this tail type stuff so i better goo read up lol.

something to bear in mind here is that he is still quite young, his tail could still develop to full halfmoon status, but even if it doesn't, he is still from halfmoon stock and should produce a fairly large percentage of halfmoon fry, if bred to more halfmoon stock.

try and get a close up picture of his tail, count how many times the rays branch, to be classified as a halfmoon he must have 8 branches on at least one ray base.

i hope netty doesn't mind, but this is a couple of pictures of her new boy i have stolen



as you can see he has more than 8 branches, which actually classifies him as a rosetail, but at the moment he only has delta/superdelta spread because he's still growing.

because my phone cam sucks, the picture is crap and you cant see his tail properly, i have done this so you can see how it actually is...

Is it a half moon or SD

like has already been said, its a superdelta spread at the moment, this could still change. what happened to the camera you manage to get such great shots of the fry with? or is that only a video camera?

Video camera was the better shots, but i can only do that when on pc cos i have to convert the cams dvd to avi before uploading, when on laptop i have to settle for phone pics cos the laptop is way to slow at converting..

I can take snap shots if i put the disc in pc but for some reason the laptop will not read discs where my pc dvd drive can..

Just had to add that a HM can have 16 rays and still be just HM and not RT. Its more on shape than rays when it comes to SD, HM and RT

Ibble is right there is a slight possibility he could still make HM. If not no worries ad he should still give you HM in some of his fry when put to a HM female.
