Hi Folks

This little girl has been sick all week, with clamped fins and body fungus. She has been treated for slime and velvet, internal bacterial infections, gill parasites, fungus and finrot (all Interpet treatments), plus daily salt and methylene blue baths. She is not getting better, and the damn fungus wont die (I assume its secondary). Today she has loss patches of colour completely and looks real bad. Has anyone else seen this complete loss of colour from patches of a sick fish, or have any treatment suggestions? She is in a sorority, the rest are fine, as are the water stats.

Thanks
Lee

The fungus on her looks very very bad.

How long have you been treating her for?

I hate to be negative, but if you've tried all that and she still looks that bad, she's probably not going to improve... especially with the fungus setting it... I would euthanize her. Good luck with whatever you decide. :(

Hun that looks like the advanced stages of Columnaris if it is i'm sorry to say that she doesn't stand much of a chance. You need to do regular- daily water changes on the tank she is in esp if you have others in there...you need to treat with an antibacterial treatment like waterlifes myaxin, copper sulphate will treat it but you are better off tryin to get some tetramicin (sp) as this is the best way

I have been treating her for about 8 days, with the colourless patches appearing only today. Even Pimafix and Melafix havent done anything. I have no idea what would cause this total loss of pigment, I can only imagine a higher form internal parasite causing this. I might euthanise her alright.
Thanks
Lee

bless her she does look bad. Go with your instincts about your little fish. Make sure you bleach everything if it is columnaris it is very contagious :good:
