This is my five gallon planted nanotank in my bedroom. It has my three best platies in it, Stryker, Dreamwalkyr and Check Twyce (evidently, they're all part of my Because Y project.) My bigger 'tanks' holding the rest of my fish are all outdoors and they are actually sturdy plastic containers with filtration and aeration :hyper: It works though.

This was my first tank, and it's intended as a newbie starter kit. I tried to hide that ugly great filter with ambulia - it looks better from the other angle, but anyway. Tank planting uses vallis (that's what it was sold as, I don't know that it actually is) cute thing out of farm dam (behind rocks in foreground) ambulia and anubias barteri. The wood was collected from my property, it stains a little but not much. The rocks are from the creek, they're basalt as far as I know.
Stocking - as I mentioned, three platies. I don't want them outside. I luv them too much.
Filtration/aeration: external box filter (inside lid). Water falls some distance into tank creating bubbles.

What do you all think??

Very nice set up. I also have a 5 gallon but the only thing in it is fry. lol No decor at all. Yours looks great! :good:

It looks nice but have you enough light for plants in that size tank? You would need at least a 36w light as it is under 10g

is that tank one of the panoramic vitapet ones you can buy from places like k-mart, big W etc.? nice setup you have going btw :good:
