Have you moved him into a separate breeding tank? or is he still in with the guppies in the photo? you will heed to move him to a separate tank before trying to breed him. and then condition him and the female by feeding with lots of protein rich foods and very regular water changes.
the male should not be able to get at the female at this point. some people keep the male and female separate and just let them see each other for a little while each day, others keep them in divided tanks so they can see each other all the time and there are theories about hormones in the water making them build better. but they must not be able to get at each other to begin with!

Heres a picture of my setup, notice how the female is seperated from the male, this is so he knows shes there but cannot get to her, once he builds a nest and is properly showing off for her and shes showing breeding bars and is full of eggs thats when you can release her.

ok thanks mate, so you are saying, a dividing tank so they can see but not get at each other, so you keeps them apart until the female looks like she is going to burst with the eggs, this is when you put her in?

if this is the case, i must have them in a divider.

thanks mate

:good:

also, have you got food ready for when they hatch if you are successful? you need cultures of things like microworms, vinegar eels etc for the first couple of weeks and then can start using freshly hatched BBS for the next couple of weeks.
