My pentazona barbs:-

I'm about 80% sure from that picture that they're tigers...
 
those are pentazona barbs because tiger barbs have a stripe across the eye and only one stripe before the dorsal fin where as these have a stripe across the eye and 2 stripes before the dorsal fin.

a clear pic showing the full fish would be a great help :good: lol
 
They are pentazonas -the photo doesnt show the extra stripes up very well-they look nothing like the tigers i've seen in shops. its not the best photo as i'm using my wifes cheap camera-after 20 odd attempts this was the best i could manage..... :blink:

Just for the unbelievers or just plain silly people out there--------

Thanks paul and demon-its a shame i cant get sharp pictures-need a get a decent digital slr camera .

That's a bit harsh... From the original pictures they look nothing like the picture from the side view. They are nice barbs, but to call other "unbelievers" because you took a shot from a bad angel is to call yourself a bad photographer.
 
to be honest, it was pretty obvious they were pentazona barbs and not tiger barbs considering the shape and size etc but a quick skim through the pictures i suppose would make them look like tiger barbs.

I agree.. one of the first shots made it tricky to see the other stripes as the tail was bent around..

They are quick little buggers, and fairly shy. i had trouble snapping mine a couple of years ago..

Yes but you are the one saying my fish arent what they are-dont inform someone they have something they dont without having good evidence.(come to think of it i didnt even ask for someone to identify them)

i'd side PRW1988 here. your words only seek to offend. people make mistakes every now and then and its also agreeable that your first picture was not that clear. no you didnt ask for identification but you did mention that they were pentazona barbs and if someone thought differently they'd be sure to voice out.
