OMG! YAY! Excuse me while I do a few cartwheels... lol

Some of you will remember those little stunnaas Striker and Magnet that I picked up from teh LFS. I don't know why Striker is stubbornly not getting pregnant, but Magnet definitely is. I'm sure Striker will get there eventually.

Anyway, I went back today and picked up three new fish. One is a curiosity, mostly variatus, for the established 'king of the roost' male. Partly to take his attention off his current crush (Striker, he's harassing her non-stop) and partly because I luv her markings!!!

The other two were a matched pair. They were kept in different tanks, but as far as I can tell, Stunner the female is virgin. I'm sure the male Check Twice will remedy the situation... They are not identical to the Striker strain, but are very similar and an ideal compliment. I'm planning on breeding their fry to fry from Striker and maybe Magnet, and on using Check Twice to impregnate some of Striker's fry as well. I can't believe my luck at getting him actually. He looked really, really sick a few weeks ago and then decided to recover and start chasing the females in the display tank. So I went YES! YES! WOOT! and bought him and a perfect mate for him.
Ever seen a male bigger than the female before? he's the largest male platy I have ever seen bar none. Hottie though. Definitely male.

Hot new strain on the way... will keep you updated. What do you think of these two as a breeding pair? Sorry about the blurry photos, I had them in a container (dripline) before I put them in the tank and I knew they'd hide so I took the photos now.

First pic: Striker
Second pic: Magnet
Third pic: Check Twice
Fourth pic: Stunner

Nice pair huh? Last pic is of them together.

Your female play! She is very stunning! Laura, very nice! You might want to get to get a few moe as those are most likely from the same batch wich will result inbreeding. Very pretty. Our's are only like 1.49 here. They are in the tnak where the filtersystem dosent work and they are dyeing. I would save them, but they would die on me.
