I agree totally it does need more rockwork and im open to ideas.what id really like is to have rocks piled up along the back but not sure how to secure them, any ideas welcome  Ive got a female with a mouthfl of babies at the minute and shes in a breeding trap so im hoping to pick up a tank to house the fry in so any ideas on that will be useful as well.i took the fish from someone breaking down their tank but they seem quite happy.

Just stack slate it will be fine. As for some of the fish you have in there from the pics I can see you have a m.Auratus in a tank that size you are going to have serious problems with that killing alot of fish. Also I can see a p.Crabo which will get to big. Other than that like the estherea and other fish.

edit also that looks like a c.moori which will also get to big. Which is fine if you are upgrading to a bigger tank.

i would like to upgrade to a bigger tank or rehome some.theres no aggression as yet but understand there will be.all the ornaments are hollow and the fish have the own places marked out.If i just stacked slate along the back would this be sufficient?how would i go re tank cleaning would i have to break the pile down each time?and yes i probably should of done my homework better but its better than lettin this guy flush em down the loo.

ive tried to identify them as far as i can see there are metraclima estherae,c.moorii, melanochromis aratus, lab.caerulus and crabro.someone identified the crabro as interruptus but im not sure look more like crabro to me, but im no expert

tank looks nice

you might want to look at my tank for idea as i have a slate pile along the back.
my tank

as for cleaning.
i give the sand a light vacum.
i then run my fingers though it to mix it up at little.

i then give the rocks a quick hoover to get the rubbish of the rocks.
by the time thats done its works out at about a 20-25% water change.
