Fish Fraud!

OK, were not talking fraud here.. but this is the third time this has happened to me :no:

Ordered a 'very rare new wild apistogramma species' from LFS, got word they were in, then went to collect and was told oh, they are over there, in that tank. I said 'in with the Bolivian Rams?' they said 'er, no, thats them...'

The name on the list was Apistogramma Incomspicya, or crown ruby cichlid.

These guys are almost certainly Bolivian Rams, but I bought them anyway cos they were a nice size and looked very healthy for wild rams...

They wont get much bigger than 4 inches, though the average far eastern bred fish wont live that long anyway. Go for Czech or German Rams if your in Europe

These are the slightly larger, more robust Bolivian Rams (Microgeophagus Altinosposa) the Blue ram (Microgeophagus Ramirezi) are smaller and more colorful, but weaker. I think I like the more subtle colours in the Bolivians though, and they really are bursting with character for such small cichlids.

They definately look like rams but something with the head seems a little off.
Then again maybe its the fact that most of the ones i see arent wild. good looking fish all the same.

From what I understand they are pretty peaceful. But aren't they hard to take care of? I heard they need really soft water and higher temps. is that true??
