Finrot wouldn't have got that much of his tail overnight, looks like he's munched it himself hun

i ment just incase he or any of the other fish in the 15 gall catch it!

No need for salt whatsoever, in fact that could put your fish at risk to different woes...

Actually not sure that isn't some sort of problem, look at the base of his body which joins onto the tail, it is a diff colour, never known a betta munch his own body, only fins.

Use Melafix or Pimafix and follow the instructions carefuly, if using salt make sure it is doc wellfish stuff not table salt.

What else is in the tank with him ?

he was in the tank on his own, went to pets at home and he had passed away it happned over night i feel gutted...
he was such a sweety
:( :-(

Aw such a shame, how long had you had him cause if you only got him recently then I'd complain cause that should not have happened if he had been well, but it did look as though he had a bacterial infection on his back half.

If you plan on getting a replacement I think you will need to sterilise his tank and bits and bobs cause I'm not happy with the last photo you gave of him and you wouldnt' wan to lose another fish to that sort of problem.

Thuis has nothing to do with the fish but i have the exact same fish and he is also called samurii

this is an infection at the base of the tail as said above but its also something that i had a while ago in one of my tanks and its high infectious and deadly within 24 hours, not sure what its called as it has about 18 letters to it, sorry.
TBH where ever you got him, dont go back if they have all their tanks working off one system as the likely hood that all the tanks are infected is very high.
