hi i read the Pinned posting on this and still not sure how far along is she. I just got her today and i'm happy she's pregnant but not sure how many more days before she delivers, Should i have the breading cage or net on hand now is it that close. She seems huge to be but it's my first guppy so...i only have one of each for now but that will change quick enough
Thanks

Shes pretty damn pregnant, I reckon a couple of days (anywhere between 1-7) but I may be slightly off. Good Luck and Congrats! :good:

thank guys
i woke up this morning and she didn't seem as big as yesterday(added new pic) but still has the black spot. Did i miss it ? Would there be any left (in tank right now 2 guppies, snail, tinny pleco this is temporary) would they all have been eaten. Or i'm i just worriying for nothing. I'm off to buy the seperator tank and fry food just in case i'm not too late, You would think the pet store would have told me how far along she was oh well
thanks

I don't think you missed it, although you might have. Just buy the separator tank as well, for future pregnancies, if you did miss it. I still think she is really fat and since she has the gravid spot she should still be carrying them. But I did read one post where someone said that females always have the gravid spot, but I don't think its true.

Anyway if you did miss it there's bound to be some left, a lot of them would have been eaten by the plec, but a few should be hiding somewhere.

Good Luck whatever happens!!! :good:

BTW can I just ask, how do you get your pics so clear? I'm having so many problems capturing the fish!!!

LOL i have the same prob with pics what i did i took a video and then take pic of the video with nevovision or something similar
Do you think she looks smaller today?
i wanted to know since i'm not sure if the fry came or survived should i wait to vaccum the tank
and what if a few survived would i be able to see then (i have small tank 5g)

Yes, I think she does look 'not as fat' today than she did yesterday. If a few survived I doubt you'd be able to see them at the moment. I remember when I thought my platy was pregnant, the next day she was thin again, I thought they had all been eaten. But one managed to survive and I saw a baby platy about 2 weeks later! So you'll have to wait. But on the other hand she may still be pregnant, I'm not 100% sure.

When you vacuum the tank you may get a couple of fry in the bucket if she has given birth, fish them out with a net and put them into your breeding tank.

Good Luck!

thanks one other thing from everything i've read they say before she gives birth she's quit and dosen't eat, but today she's being extrely aggressive, she's chasing the male around, and she's very hungry. What does that mean ?
