Seriously though, my favorite coral bit the dust (an LPS of course :) )from my neglect... and the acros just keep growing into everything.... time for pruning!

I'm sure that you have a perfecly lagitamite reason why you would leave your tank for so long. But I am utterly baffled with your 'LOL'. It's as though you couldn't give a toss!
Is that a nervous 'LOL' or are you really that crass?

Wow, I forgot why I stopped posting on forums like this.

First.... Look at the tank and the healthy critters. Are you so dull as to think this system ran itself for 3 months?
Are you so rash as to not beable to think some one fed it calcium, food for the fish, make up the RO....
Simply I didn't replace any snails or scrape the tank down. That alone has its consequences.

Please, get a life. Next time you want to bash some one... thinking your the Spanish Inquisition and "helping"... try a polite PM.

Crass enough for you?

And now, had you asked in a PM nicely say..."Hey Adrinal, I don't get why you are "lol"ing at the end of your statment... can you explain please".

And I would answer:"LOL, ya. Its just ironic the less we attend to the systems, them better they run! Of course, that can go too far. With the glass that dirty I didn't notice my favorite coral doing poor till it was too late to save it :(" or, something to that effect.

Have to agree the comment by madgap was pointless and agressive, pity people leave their manners behind when they enter the world of cyberspace.

'Manners maketh the man'

Steve :)

Why is the tank so bare? I don't see any substrate or any of the usual stuff. Do you not like the "finished look" or are you working on something?
Nice corals. :good:

Love the manners lesson! There are many many people that could use some!!!!!!

In the pictures it doesn't look good because of the flash. IRL or with a better camera it gives it the void look. besides they are usually covered in corline ;p
For my own taste, I wont ever run substrate again. But, I have dreams of a big tank with ... bikes dipped in epoxy with corals growing on them :) I like the Japanese tank look. a few small islands of rock and big coral patches. This will all be thinned down to a couple of brains and a half-dozen acro in one tank and montie in the other. A few big corals > lots of LE frags. Its fun to watch the fish dive in and out of the branches of one big colony. It takes a realitivly long time for a coral to get settled right, but once it does.... boom inch a month is not unheard of. Seriously, all I care about is healthy animals... they don't even have to be colorful. A big brown torch with white tips is awesome when its a foot across :)
When you start out, rock-work seems so important. But once your corals take off... you never see it; really it just takes up space (unless you can't remote filter).

These two 100G tanks are only a portion of the system :) So don't get fooled, there is much more live rock than you see. If possible I prefer more sump than tank. All those pods doing the dance of love daily = well fed corals.

I love fairy wrasses... so the display wouldn't have many pods anyhow. My fish room is completely sealed from the rest of the house and 600sq feet... So, I don't expect the average place to be able to replicate all the remote cryptic fuges I have  But, its great if you can. I like it a ton more than when I was doing the plant fuges.

Rubble is effective but a pain to work with... I'm done with rubble, rather get fiji or some dried stuff.
Sand, I would like to try a remote sand filter like the kind Calfo, Sprung, and Pro pimp... super cheep and chuck it ever 6 months or so. But, in the display... not a chance. I can't think of one positive (other than specific creatures that need sand (and that list is way shorter than most tout). Black acrylic looks better too... Most folks who see my tank in person don't even realize there is no sand. "I could have sworn you had sand in there?" In person you focus on the animals, the sand is a back ground :)

Next post:

More rock for ya, from last year :)

I've re-read the first two posts a few times and with the smiley faces and the LOL, I stand by what I had posted. It wasn't meant in any way to be 'bash'ing you. It was mearly a question.
And as I said in my personal message to you, I am new to this forum, so don't use me as an excuse for keeping off of here.

This is a forum, and as far as I am aware, a forum is a place where questions are asked and opinions are given. Regardless of whether you like the comments made or not.

Maybe it might help you to understand that we northerners in England call a spade a spade. So like it or lump it.

Have a nice day :hyper:

Yes, but you said it in an offensive way  I would bet you never even waited for the pictures to load before you posted. Get over it.And look over it again...

Moving back on topic.
Awesome tanks, everything looks really healthy, great macro shots :good:

Thanks Cheesy Feet. :good: I am 'orrible arn't I  Can I look at you as a fatherly figure. Always ready to gently correct?

Actually, no. You user name sort of repulses me

No harm ws intended. It's just how I come across. We are like that at work all the time. Well, no. Worse actually.

And I agree. The pictures are astonishing.

Dont worry too much Madgap, your question was the first thing that passed through my head also....why knowingly leave it that long...but hey.
