Wow thats a big lump on the belly region.
Is it hard or like filled with fluid.
Is the betta skinny.

i havent touched it
didnt think that was wise to do that

from other simese i have seen then hes regular size. he doesnt over feed.

Ok pics can be deceiving looked abit thin to me.
You will have to get hold of the lump to see if it feels hard or soft filled with fluid, as long as you don't press hard just feel the lump it will be ok.
How long has the fish had the lump did it just appear over a day or two.

Ok looks like it filled with fluid to me but pics can be deceivng.
Whats your location for a med.
Is the betta kept on its own, as lumps can burst and infect the tank.

its in a community tank

what do you mean by 'location for a med'????

thanks for your help so far

What country do you live in?
Can you issolate the betta to a hospital tank.

yeah i have a 6 litre fish for fun tank that i could

im from London

Thats fine do you have a heater and airstone.
Uk meds are not that great, all there is for this is anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

yeah i can add a air line and it has a heater
i was keeping my platty fry in it before transfering them

Ok the fry will have to go in the main tank if there healthy and have no desease.
No way do you want that lump if it burst in a main tank.
If it is hard to the touch you could be dealing with a tumour no cure, but best to try a bacterial med first.
Good luck.

Don't want to hijack the thread but my betta has exactly the same thing!
I posted about it a couple of months ago and the lump has come and gone ever since. I've treated him again and again with anti bacterial interpet but it doesn't go. He is on his own in a 4 gallon tank (we call him the little emperor!) and the water is perfect. I've no idea what it is or why it's there although I do think it is filled with fluid... I'm sure it's not "right" but mine has had the lump for about 4 months now and is still going strong and behaving as normal!
