Hey all, im sure everyone has seen posts about nc vs bc, but i'm still undecided as what to get for my brother. I've been reading alot of the threads and i'm leaning towards the nanocube12dx. I was reading that its easier to upgrade the lighting w/ the nanocube. If anyone could give me some advice on which ones better.

Also, what other mods do i need besides:
-switch out stock pump for maxijet 900
-replace mechanical filtration (for rubble, chaeto, filterfloss)
-lighting

Thanks guys :)

:hyper: well i dont know about to bio-orb or whatever but i just recently got my 12gallon deluxe nano cube about 10 days ago and let me tell you they are AWESOME!!!!!! dont hesitate to buy one....i put 12lb (5 kg of live rock in and its filled up the back 1/3rd of the tank nicelyand theres loads of room few new additions. the curved glass looks great and really magnifys whats in the tank...but doesnt distort it. it doesnt come with a heater so i bought a 100w one that fits in the tank...the flow rate is 166gph i think, which means a 10x turnover which is great theres lots of movement...the lighting is fantastic...after only 10 days my tank is full of loads of different types of algae (im buyin my clean up crew this weekend) and the 2 fans help alot by coolin the lights down but they increase the rate of evaporation so i usually top off the tank every 2 or 3 days...when ever i need to. I've actually been takin photos of the tank every night since day one so i'll attch some and let u have a gander.....the cube also comes with an algae scraper and aa modular surface skimmer which actually works quite well.
here are some tank pics....as u can see it fits really nicely on the corner of the desk in my room:

hey there again to convince u to buy a 12 gal dx nano cube here are some more tantalising pics.....
i'll explain them ok 1st one is the modular surface skimmer which works really well the suction of the pump keeps it over the filter grid thing and creates a tight seal so wate can only flow up and through the skimmer it creates a fast run off of water so all detritus and crap  is sucked/pulled into the sponges etc.
