You need to get that nitrite double checked. If it's not a false positive, you'll have dead inverts soon. How long has the tank been set up?

that anemone looks a bit bleached to me???

*edited* sorry thought you said nitrate

I'm no expert tho just my opinion

wow i agree on the bleached thing lol, how old is the tank?

Definitely a Mula or a Sebae. I hope it start's taking food, cause it's awfully bleached

If you take a look at karen roses anemone site her email address is there

drop her an email she will definatly help you nurse it back!

Malu, not mula... it's pretty bleached but not totally as it still has some colour and is not transparent.

Also remember that H. Malu are very aggressive nems and may even eat your fish from your aquarium once healthy...

Mine has finally stopped moving now!!

But the sad news is in around 3-4 weeks I will be moving it from nano to 4ft'er

Not too sure about this... all healthy anemones can eat fish but malus are about at "average" "aggression" level. They seem to like to insert their feet into rocky crevasses with sand below, if that helps at all. Flowrate should be about 10x per hour, enough to "rustle" their tentacles.

I'm with Ski on this one Lynden. Malu grow large, FAST and will certainly eat any fish they can catch. Not something I'd want to put in a small tank (below 75gallons I'd consider small of one personally)

All anemones (barring tube "nems") can catch and eat fish. Malus are not particularly large either and do not grow particularly fast (according to wetwebmedia).

My malu must be in pretty bad shape as a guppy I tried to feed it has apparently survived an encounter with it's tentacles... damn maroon clown pulled the guppy out. The nem's creamy yellow in colour (slightly bleached), and has barely moved since I bought it. Normally I would never have, but my tank seems to be in very good shape, with a good skimmer and flowrate, GFO and carbon alternating... and intense lighting. So far, the anemone doesn't eat much.

i wouldnt feed freshwater live fish with skeletons to anemones....

Well in truth neither would I... but since the anemone hasn't eaten in weeks, I figured it may help the anemone recognize food. But why would a skeleton matter? Nems are capable of eating very large fish, which likewise have very strong bones.
