Its not done yet, i still gotta get a background, and another fish, either a target fish or an archer, so tell me what you think!

I'm going to update with some more pics soon, still have to get some of my mollies.

Looks great! Will be even better with background. Is it really a 55 gal?? The pictures look decieving, I have that same log in my 38 gal and it looks a lot smaller in mine. Or maybe my tanks bigger than I think!

yeah its a 55, but the first 2 pics show only a half of the aquarium, I was trying to get a closer view of it so I took one then the other.

That is one really awesome looking Dormitator maculatus  .

And a very nice clean looking tank in general. I think it would look even better if you got some plants and a black background, though I don't have any experience with your fish other than the mollies, maybe they would just destroy any plants? -_-

Yep she's my little girl! and the fish would be compatible with plants to my knowledge, but as hard as it is to keep plants in brackish water, I'm not sure I want to try. But I'll pick up some fake ones eventually.

The goby is beautiful. Nice tank, too. You should keep you eyes peeled for some nice plastic plants. The seaweed-looking ones might be just the ticket. The other thing I'd do is collect or buy a variety of seashells. Clams and mussels from the grocery store are fine. Clean the shells, put them in a plastic bag, and then smash them up. Scatter the resulting rubble across the bottom of the tank. Suddenly, the aquarium looks a lot more like an estuary, where shell debris is common. As a bonus, the shells help buffer the pH and carbonate hardness a little.

Cheers, Neale

Very nice, clean tank! :good: But it could do with a background.

great tank and pics, cant wait to see it when you have finished with your background, plant and even more fish!

xXx

Nice looking Jade Goby. When you go for artificial plants go for silk. I know they are more pricey but the do look more realistic.

It is great seeing Mollies in a larger aquarium. The goby rocks!

Depending on your Specific gravity level, there are quite a few live aquarium plants that will be able to tolerate brackish conditions quite well and the harder water conditions caused by NMonks shell suggestion. If yours is around 1.005, then there are quite a few plants at your disposal, provided that you have adaquate lighting, which opens up a whole other can of worms. Here is a very fine thread by AMS.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I will be going silk, just cause it looks nicer, especially since the tank is going to be at 1.008 to 1.010 SG. What color background do you think i should go with? I would usually go black, but I have 3 black mollies in there...

Anyway, heres some new pics!

She just realized yesterday that she fit through the hole!

And finally one of everyone being friendly.

Also, if the Violet goby looks a little thin, its because hes a "rescue" from PetSmart. He was in freshwater, now he's in brackish and is eating, so he's slowly getting better (I've had him for a month and hes already almost an inch longer).

great fish and tank.
see what you mean about black background and the black mollies
i have a mid blue background and it makes the fish stand out rather well!! also my background plants are silk and i think they look quite realistic>
