First of all I went away on holiday, when I came back after a week my female mollie had gone dramatically thinner. I thought she'd dropped some fry or something so I didn't worry about it (although before we went away I noticed she spent quite a bit of her time with her dorsal fin clamped and was hiding lots).

But a few days later she started to loose her balance and today she has her head constantly down, trying to swim to the bottom and is twirling.

My water yesterday were Ammonia-0
NO3-20
NO2- 0
pH- 6.0 ( I have done a 25% water change since)

what should I do? can I even save her?

How thin has she gone.
What does it look like when she goes to the toilet.
Is her anus red and inflamed, or enlarged.
Sadly she in bad shape and not going to make it sorry.

I have attached a photo of her, although it's a bit difficult to photograph a spinning fish, she is strangely enough the right way up but she didn't stay like that for very long.

Her anus is not red, inflamed or enlarged. I haven't seen her go to the toilet.

I've just been to my local fish shop and he said that she will not make it. :-(

Thanks for the help

My condolances. There is a strange disease affecting my fish, but it is different from what you have. still, don;t be too sad. Focus on positive, find a new molly.

Yeah once it has developed this far, theres almost no chance of recovery, If she does recover she will be swimming and twirling the rest of her life. At my LFS, there is a small golden platy in one of the tanks, It has the same issue, and lived, however the last 2 months, all it does is twirl around in circles and act like it's crazy. It does this when it's feeding and then it settles to the bottom and relaxes, and swims slowly and carefully down there as not to twirl. I am thinking about taking her because she will never be sold, and then I will try to give her as happy a life as possible in one of my tanks since it doesn't seem that she's suffering. She just has a different tornado like veiw of the world around her. SHe's special !!!

im sorry to hear about your molly, i lost 2 bala sharks to the same thing, but u always have to look on the positive side of things

Do you feed live tubilex worms.
