dude i like that. Its a wicked good idea! Youve just inspired me

The whole bucket idea. They have more room in there. And think there in there own place that no one else knows about. They cant see outside so i suppose they fell like there in a more natural environment. Im gonna try a bucket with my next betta.

im using buckets for my growouts lol.Might use the whole bucket thing for new fish to quarrantine them.Seem to be having a few bad fish recently.

I was asking since the bigger plant with the green and white leaves looks almost exatcly like one my parents keep outside water (well, it gets watered, but is in potting soil) and I have seen it sold everywhere in potting soil... Did you buy it from an fish shop, or are you just assuming it's aquatic?

Sorry if I sounded rude... was just wondering...

I got it done! Here it is:
I know it is not very good but I am upgrading it more and then I am going to updrade all my tanks later this week.

Also wondering... that little ball in the new piccy, does it have a jingly metal bell inside?
If so, remove it... it will rust!
And I'm pretty sure rust will harm your fish...

The plant you are talking about is a photos, they are really a plant that is planted however if you have problems with green water they actually help soak up the nutrients that cause green water. The roots won't hurt the fish either they like to hide in them, just watch and make sure if it starts rotting take it out but it shouldn't I use to grow them in water for a year or more at a time. As long at the plant roots haven't been in soil they are pretty safe for an aquarium. I have noticed at the big box pet stores they sell a lot of regular house plants as aquarium plants.

They are aquatic plants. DO not worry. :good: If any of my plants start rotting I take them out imeditly!
