Just thought I'd post a few pics of our current tank which is a 68 Gallon jobbie, I'm going to start building a 120 gallon next month even though I've got plenty of time before the sharks and pleccys need a bigger tank. I know a lot of people on here will say I have some unsuitable fish together!...... but hey it works for me, not had any problems apart from a severum which I had to return as it was attacking everything else in the tank constantly.
Only been keeping fish for a year now but the bug has bitten.

why do you have one discus. discus need to shoal, in the wild there in thousands. in tanks they should be with a min of 4 other discus to make 5. i think you should return the discus.

also it does look VERYover stocked in there. get thats 120g up quickly.

but please rehome the single discus.

Yeah, DiscusAngel is correct. That tank is not going to work the betta fish will most likely be picked on and the Discus again as said needs to be put into a group. Also, that tank look no where near 68g, looks more like a 10g to me...

btw in the picture the pleco has a peice of his fin missing, also in the first picture it shows one side of the tank, in the third picture you see the same ornament and the other side of the tank...

and the poor loaches oh my god and i thought my tank was over stocked

2 Tiger Barbs, 4 Cherry Barbs, 3 Green Barbs, 3 Albino Barbs, 3 Clown Loaches
1 discus, 1 Parrot Fish, 2 Plecs, 1 Red Tail shark, 1 Silver Shark, 2 Pebble Corys
1 Albino Cory, 2 Blood Red Gourami, 2 Pink kissing Gourami, 2 Pearl Gourami
2 Blue Spot Gourami, I Siamese Fighter, 2 Guppys.

Thats a bit to much for a 68g although the tank doesnt look that big. I told a guy on ebay selling an overcrowded tank like this he should make the winner aware he couldnt keep that many fish in that sized tank his answer to me was if I knew anything about keeping fish then I would know the more filters you have the more fish you can keep and that I should stop reading books and actually try keeping fish lol. So maybe thats where we have all been going wrong lol.

Mmmm, makes me laugh, look at a picture and you know what size the tank is.., 44x20x22 is actualy closer to 69 uk gallons, lol at 10g, must have a small pc screen...lol, everyone has their own way of doing things and not everyone will agree with other peoples ways or opinions. My fish are happy and doing well I may not be doing things as people on here think should be done but this is what this hobby is all about. Trying differant things to have a tank with happy fish that is a joy to look at, what works for one person may not work for the next, but at the end of the day no two fish are the same, their all individuals. Whilst this board is a good source of information I do get the feeling that people get critisised for not doing what is considered the norm, dont mean to offend anyone but thats how it comes across.

No trouble at all mate, Gouramis, barbs and loaches been together over a year male bettas been in a few months. All get on well together, I know its said not to keep these fish together and I cant explain why they get on but they do. Fish with individual personalitys I say! Oh and the pleco's fins are fully intact its just the way the photo turned out, not a very good camera probably better camera phones out there.

The tank isn't tall enough for Discus anyways. Could we get a full tank shot?

Just me? You can tell from the other pictures that the plants have been moved around a few times in between shot, was it an accumulation of tank shots over time that you posted? I hope those ornaments were also shuffled  Just wondering becuase thats why I thought it might just be a 10g and that would be so cruel

the betta may get on with everyone now as it will be settling in still but trust me he will turn on the gourami and it will end up in death if you don't seperate he will then turn to guppies and any other colourful fish you have :/

nearly all those fish are not compatable

male bettas don't get on with gouramis and guppies
parrots with eat the small fish
tiger barbs will rip the sh** out og the guppies and betta eventualy.
If those are common plecos they need a eminimum of a 6FT tank.
discus are ment to be kept in groups of atleast 4 and each discus needs 15g each. And needs alot of fltration,
other than that nice tank.
