Betta Girls

popped in my local aquatic centre..they had about 4 males, 2 looked like cts, but also had a tank of females £1.99 each. They had 2 very pretty Cambodians, and then about 8 pks. Me being me stood watching them for about 10 minutes, 3 of the females were juvi males, definitely got longer fins and were flaring at each other. The frill went all the way round under their chin. I got the chap over and he said they had them in Thursday I pointed the males out to him and he says funny it just said assorted females on the docket from the breeder. Anyway, he says he will watch them as he didn't want to sell the customers males if they wanted females. Might pop in again on Monday just to see...

at least he is going to be honest with other customers not selling them a "female" when its male, did he say he was going to seperate them from each other?

i bought an assortment of females. turns out lisa below is now a male. didnt really have room for another male but had to make some. the prob is i think the lfs sell them too young before you can tell the males from females (or at least before i can)

really, do you have any recent pics of him, and whats his new name?

i think hes turned out handsome. and still being a young-un im sure he will get better... think ill name him bart. bought them and they were tiny. its suprising how fast they grow

He didn't split the fish...i did say to him those 3 girls at the back are really stressed look at their stripes...he just said of yes...I don't think he knew what I meant....I would get a couple but I got no space my girls wont go together now

if i had a car and some space then those males would of been sorted and possibly some of the females, can't wait till i can drive

O and i have had 3 male that i thought were females my first was a pk me and my friend bought 2 each 1 of mine was male and 1 of his were i think but cant remeber. and then i bought 2 females from my lfs and 1 turned out to be a male vt. and then my most recnet is a baby pk i got a couple of weeks ago cant remeber were from but he is growing up quick
