Hi, i need some help on identifying if my molly is pregnant. Here is a attachment of her. Are you able to tell me if she is pregnant or just "fat"?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum :)

she doesn't look pregnant to me at the moment, doesn't mean she isnt, how long have you had her?

if you have only had her a short time there is a pretty good chance she was already pregnant, as i said she doesn't look it yet.

Yeah it doesn't seem pregnant like they all said, but from that picture it even looks as tho it may be a male. I can really see the anal fins well. Is it long and pointed? or does it have two little round fins by the anus?

i have only had her a couple of weeks now. when i first put her in the tank she gave birth to 2 fry (which i'am putting in a "floating" hacthery to protect them) anyway i'll give it time. Do you know how long pregnancy is for mollies? thanks

OO lol well then it is indeed a female. Pregnancy last all of a day at most. THe birthing part I mean. She will likely be pregnant again within days considering that female mollies can hold sperm from previous mates for later use. In a little over a month she could have some more babies.

I've read between 45 and 60 days. My dalmation went 49 days between her last birth and the most current.

really? i have never had amolly last longer than 4 weeks, maybe a few days over but not much
Yep, exactly 49 days, I wrote the previous fry delivery on the calendar. Now I have no idea if she crossed her fins somewhere along the way, as far as I know nothing happened to stress her at any time causing her to abort/re-absorb. I have the latest batch marked on the calendar too so I have an idea of when the next batch come. I'll try and remember to let you know.
