When I first started on the planted route I just wanted it to look like a clearing in the forest, whichis much like I have really.

Nothing special like some of these heavily scaped tanks with all the feng shui going on, but I am not really into that look at all.

I have the sides and back heavily planted and then wood and Rock in front with a clear semi circle of sand in the front centre (about 25% of the substrate) and once the back bushes up fully it should really look nice.

Also gives a 'play' area for my little pitbull plecs (which I had, but killed with CO2, and am replacing in 2-4 weeks)

Then the school of 15-20 Neons will look great amongst the thick bushiness of the 'forest' (also coming in the next month)

Until then the 3 Otos are enjoying keeping the glass and leaves clean.

I guess its a theme of sorts, but very simple unlike the Iwagumi (or whatever it is) that I think looks a little pointless (although nice) and is not really for me.

Personal preference I suppose.

I have seen some cool themes like the golf course on here and there was an italian I think that did an african biotope with loads of Anubias etc which looked fantastic but he was after a little bit of river which is the best look IMO.

And of course Liam's 'moss' tank which looks amazing and is my favourite tank on the forum if not anywhere I look on the net, but he didn't plan it to be a moss tank. It developed that way and just looks damn good with his shrimp running around.

Good luck should be interesting to see

Andy
