I am getting ready for bed, but I am concerned about my betta Red. Ever since his first 50% water change he has been kinda sluggish. He's hanging out towards the top of the bowl, so I think that is a good sign? But still he is just staying in one place and not moving much. I've been using spring water so I am not working with tap water at all. I don't think I introduced anything harmful into his environment? Maybe he is just ready to call it a night as well? Do fish sleep?

Thanks.

Do you mean bottled water? If you are thats a bad thing as it doesnt have all the electrolytes use tap water with a dechlorinator

I am going to transition to tap water throughout the week. I've got the decholinator, but I'll have to make the transition to tap water gradually right?

That might be a good idea to not shock him too much, I think once hes in tap water he'll he ok, but do keep an eye on him

oh by the way fish do sleep, bettas love to lay on leaves of plants

I don't know what is up with this little guy, but his eating habits need to change. I think since I've had him (since saturday), he's only eaten like 4 betta pellets. Most of the time when I try to feed him he spits everything back out and it just sits in his bowl until I scoop it out. Sometimes when I feed him he just swims around his food and shows no interest in wanting it. I didn't feed him at all yesterday, and even this morning when I dropped in some food he didn't want it. What is up?

Bettas are notorious gourmets. Some of them are just so picky they won't eat anything but the best. I've never heard of a betta snubbing frozen blood worms, so they would probably be a good investment.
You might be able to call the place you bought him from and find out what they were feeding him with. Maybe he's just used to a different type of food.

its more likely that hes just settling in, once hes comfy he should eat what ever you give him. You dont need to feed more than once a day and you should have a fast day and feed cooked peas now and then

I can't tell if this is the beginnings of fin rot or just part of his coloring. Someone please help! I've only had him 5 days! Thanks.

That looks a lot like fin rot. Might want to get some anti fungal stuff at the old LFS and treat it. It won't be as bad later if you get now. And if it isn't finrot, the meds won't hurt. It was probably caused by the stress of being introduced into a new home, and word on the street is that stress can lower a fish's immune system and make it succeptable to infections, fungal or otherwise.

So I have been thinking about by next trip to the grocery store...

Things to add to my grocery list for Red:

Peas
Greenbeans (finely chopped) - can fish really eat these?

And that is all I got! There has got to be something else I can treat him to?

Yup, bettas  the peas but I'm not sure whether they'll eat the green beans though. Never tried it. I got some sun dried baby gammaru shrimp for mine and I swear, he thrashes it in the water like a great white! Those shrimp puff up in the water though and they're exoskeleton is high in fiber. So I feed him one in the morning, and two-three pellets just before "lights out", I'm pretty sure I'm not over feeding because by feeding number two, there's a little peice o' poo fluttering gracefully (well as graceful as poo can be) around his tank. So I pluck the poo out with a small brime shrimp net. So It's ok to feed them lightly twice a day.

Serious? I thought that only Plecs and Silver Dollars liked those. Guess I was wrong!
