Hi thanks. When I first started breeding gups I saw a blue tailed guppy online and really wanted one. Now I have two!!!!!! Mlfs got a new batch in and low and behold...there was a few blue tailed males....YIPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

And one of them is courting my yellow tailed female. Interesting.

How large is the tank. Your Chinese Algae Eater will get quite large and a bit more aggressive as it grows. Keep an eye out for him.

Gorgeous fish - especially the guppies - but the CAE will eat them all soon enough if you don't remove it.

Hi all...thanks for your replies. Thought i'd share some pics of my fishies with you all. Glad you like them.

Yep the CAE's Im aware will grow and become aggressive. We plan to rehouse them and just keep our corries. We actually had a CAE highjack a ride to our place through a plant we bought from our lfs...it was in a pot and he was hiding inside, we went out to lunch and everything...by the time we got home the plant had been moved around in the bag alot..we took it out and in the very corner of the bag was a CAE in the smallest amount of water. We named him Highjack. We called our lfs who we are friends with...he said to keep him for awhile and give him back when he gets too big. Basically alot of mine and my partners family have tanks....so all would be more than happy to re-house them when they get too big. I actually think my 2 cae's are mating. I can only hope.

78 litres.... I also have a 30 litre fry tank. Yeh the CAE's will be re-housed soon enough. They are still small and placid for the moment.

No they will be fighting, they are highly territorial/agressive towards each other, eventually they will kill each other if left long enough in the same tank together over time. CAE's are difficult fish to stock with other fish, i would be wary about rehoming him to another tank as there aren't a great deal of fish that are safe to keep with CAE's.
