I just re-did my whole tank... I decided to go with the planted. It gives off a very peaceful vibe in my room, it's great. Anyways here's what everything is...

Tank size is 29 US gallons.
Hood is just a twin tube hood. With 2- Zoo Med- Tropic Sun 5500K daylight lights. (cause I'm a newbie, and have low cash)
100 watt heater.
Marineland brand, penguin 350 Bio Wheel power filter.(filters 350 gallons per hr.)

Inside I have, 2 common pleco's, 1 rainbow fish, 2 platys (ones a baby fry, the other is the dad..mom sadly died.)
I want to get about 4 guppy's and 2 frogs soon, also later on when the tank gets growing more, i want a few ghost shrimp.

Bubble-disk

The plants are, Amazon sword ( 1 big one and 2 small ones), 1 Micro sword narrow leaf and 1 Red Wendth.
Oh, I also got 2 things of live bog wood, one has a java fern growing out of it.)

Here's the picture...

I like the look a lot!! Great job with the planted look! I like the looks of your tank a lot and the only thing I'm not totally keen on is the bubble area although I know most fish love it! :good:

Yea.. I'm not sure if im going to leave it there or not.
I still need to add some more plants and maybe some more live bog wood.
So I might be moving things around again.

You need to take out the common plecs as these will get to 18" but good looking tank I like the bubble feature.

with plants in there, loose the air 'bubble disk' - this will cause the limited amount of CO2 that does manage to get in there to be released from the water.

What substrate are you using & how large is the tank in (US Gallons)?

Agreed, it is robbing some of the CO2 from the water. The price we pay to have lovely plants can often mess with the good looks of the tank. You've got a great looking tank otherwise though! :good:

It says 29 gallon on the subject title and I would venture to say it's probably a black tahitian moon sand or something similar. Lovely tank though and I've got a sword that's just like it!

Ok, I took the bubble disk out. For substrate I used 2 bags of Eco-complete and the tank is 29 US gallons.
