Big Problem Need Help !

i have a 55 gallon cichlid tank but it constantly get algea what sould i do? thats not my main problem on the side of the tank there is this slimy white stuff that i dont no what it is the chiclids and pleco seem fine but its annoying and i dont want it to become harmful. im sorry im not more decriptive or have pictures but pics wont show up and it really hard to describe.
is it possible to have to much oxygen in a tank?

82-83 degrees
have 2 50 gallon filters 10 3-5 inch african cichlids
1 bristlenose pleco
crushed coral sand fake plants and honycomb rocks plz help!

WHEN I LOOK AT TANK I THINK IT MIGHT BE SOMEKIND OF FUNGUS BECAUSE ITS LIKE A STRINGY WHITE STUFF THAT STICKS TO GLAS AND ROCKS AND PLANTS. ALSO I NOTICED RED BUMBS ON ONE OF MY FRONTOSAS AND A SMALL RED DOT THAT LOOKS LIKE A WOUND ON MY YELLOW LAB. FINALLY GOT PICS PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!

Look bacterial to me can you enlarge the pic, the red spot on the fish does it look like a red pin prick.

Does the bump have a circling of white around the edges.

I would use a bacterial med if you can issolate the two sick fish tetracycline.
If not maracyn one and two.

Effective treatment of fin and tail rot, popeye, gill disease, dropsy (swollen body, protruding scales), septicemia (bleeding or red streaks on the body), secondary and internal infections. Effective even when fish won't eat.
Active ingredient: Mincycline hydrochlor.

Do a search on white string algae, do you have plenty of aeration.

It does look bacterial to me.
If there was a parasite involved the fish would be flicking and rubbing it self on things in the tank.

that what i think because i notice small fin rot and can cure that but they seem healthy i just noticed a few days ago and these pictures were takne like 2 hours ago but i will probably go get one of the 3 medicines you suggested.

Tetracycline is a good antibiotic but it can wipe your bacteria colony out in your filter.
Maracyn you need both of them which you can use together to cover everything.

i dont think the fish are that ill yet because it just popped up like 2 days ago so i caught it quick but i didnt find anything on white stingy algea and the white on the glass i cant get a good picture of

will i need to take out any dec because of staining reasons or will it be fine and what i could do is only have one filter run and have then when bacteria is gone i can run both again

No bacterial meds don't usually stains things in the tank, my make tank go cloudy.
Run both filters, don't put filter in another tank if you have one that's how you spread desease.
Ask the lfs about your white algae problem.
