well i put my pair back together this morning and left them to it. about an hour after being introduced into the tank, they started wrapping! firts few wraps produced no eggs and i was a bit puzzled but soon she was squirtin them out no problem!
2 hours and 10 mins later she was done, flat bellied and ignoring the male and the nest and off looking for food so poped her back into the community tank. i rekon there is between 120-150 eggs, so not a huge spawn (for which im greatful, being my first).
a pic of the proud dad and the exaughsted mum

all well so far. seen him munch on a fry and i though "oh no" but it must have been a diseased one or something, ive seen him catching a stray fry and pop it back in the nest! good dad! well chuffed. gave him a meal of some bloodworms as he was looking a bit nackered. he ate a few but dont seem too interested in food at the moment.

YAY!! :hyper: good for u :) Congratz :good: :good:
I can't wait to start breeding my bettas- when I have a spare tank and some females I might

well had a wee nosy in this morning and by gum theres hundreds of the wee things! it looks like a big patch of hairy fungus on the underside of the buble nest and the fry are starting to do loop-the-loops around the nest! dad is kept busy shepherding stray fry back to the bubbles!

took the male out today, i probobly could have left him in longer as he was being a brilliant dad, i haven seen him eating the fry but he was looking exaughted as the fry are now scattered around the tank and he is trying hard to keep them in the nest, which he has extended vastly, the bubble nest covers around a quarter of the tank surface! the fry can swim straight yet and are still clinging to the plants and loads of them on the heater too. shall give them their first feed tomorrow!

Sounds amazing :good: What you feeding them on? Keep on the water changes.
Good Luck & Keep Us Updated :good:

done a 20% water change as soon as i removed the male. feeding them on frozen micro-planckton. gave a tiny bit this evening, but didnt distibute it well. the ones that got it seemed to be aeting it so heres hoping
