That is nice. I have a couple of questions.
How do you get the mound to stay? Mine always fall.
Where did you find that wood. I can't find any branchy ones.
Nice tank :good:

Thanks for the comments, the mound is made up of jbl pro-flora substrate and the black sand, i also put it a thin layer of gravel over the pro-flora to give it extra support, but as i said the tank has only been running for a couple of days, so it may still collapse! I got the wood from www.aquaessentials.co.uk, its called redmoor wood.

That figures it would be uk. I am in the us. Yall seem to have access to better stuff and cheaper too. I don't guess there are as many fish people here. I am trying to get more people around here into them though. I have sucked my sister in. I gave her a tank and fish. Now she has gotten another one. She is starting to learn too. That is a step in the right direction. She is even getting some of my extra plants :shifty:
Keep posting. I want to see if the mound holds up. If it does... I may have to try again.
Is it going to have fish?

Nice planted tank. Its coming along very well. What are your plans, fish wise and plant wise. The branches of wood in the middle is very cool. I have been trying to find one in my local fish store but every time they have some they run out so quickly.

I have some Hemianthus micranthemoides on order, that will go in the front left corner of the tank, no other plant plans, just let it grow in. I havnt really though much about fish, but I won't be getting any just yet, as im am dosing quite highly with CO2 and ferts, so I dont want to risk any until I have got past the initial 'algae defence' stage.

Well The tanks been going for about a month, just got my CO2 refilled. Also added 3 tetras, 6 tiger shrimp and soon 8 cherry shrimp. Heres the latest pic

Looks very nice, can't wait to see it in another month! Out of curiosity, what kind of tetras did you get? From the pic it looks like silver tips.
EDIT: Looks like the mound is gone...

Ive had the tetras for a while so im not too sure what type they are. The mound is still there, just the fact that it is covered and has stem plants on either side of it. Its dropped a bit, but is still there!
