I have a pregnant Guppy she is about 1 week till due date (Or so) And lately I have noticed her "Back end" seems to be at a slant downwards - This just seems to be recently......could it be just the pregnancy?

She was VERY big last time before she popped and is quite large now - She just kinda waddles around the tank....She is eating ok & I don't see any damage to any fins at all.

I can get a picture but not until later when I get my camera back.....

Any advice?

Thanks!!!

I've seen that with my swordtail before. I dont think it's uncommon although I'll stand corrected should it be... She's probably really close to dropping the fry at this point.

never heard of the belly area slanting downwards, but with mine they often become more square shape before giving birth, but a picture would be best

Picture_026.JPGHere is a pic of a fish I already have on my computer (Not the same one) But just to show where its slating from....

She last gave birth on March 23rd.....So its usually every four weeks right?
I will post a picture, but don't have my camera back till later tonight

Ya well I was thinking more square shaped too not slanting... if you could get a picture of the fish that would be great.

Pics & Video included....Anymore opinions? Her last birth was on March 17th with 39live fry - a couple fatalitys..... I just checked my book, so she shouldn't be due for a little while yet right?

Sorry my video skills are sure lacking! but you can kinda see how she is waddling, not properly swimming in it...

The fry could be pressing on the swim bladder making her look like her tail is weighing her down.

I can't help you with your problem but I'd very interested in what happens. Can you keep us updated please?

Edit> I've just got a female guppy and want to learn as much as I can about them, including problems.

that happened to my one guppy and she died eventually. i think it happens after they have a ton of babies a lot. or it could be a sign of stress... i don't know which one yet

Thanks everyone! I will definetly keep you all updated...I really hope she dosen't die!! She is one of my favorite!! This is only her 2nd batch with me, but I no longer keep the males in their tank.....to try and give them a break once there done!
