the black spot at the back is alot bigger and darker in real life, and shes gettin fatter each day ,the only problem is that if she has fry i have no other tanks to put them in so they will prob get eaten :(

as long as theres plenty of hiding places you should get a few survive, floating plants make good cover for fry, :good: what other fish do you have in the tank with them?

i have one plant but a lot of big pebbles which they can get under(you can see the big pebbles in the second pic they r whit and black), i might get another plant or a castle in the week, i have 2 sword tails (male and female) and another 2 guppys (both male) and 5 neon tetras.

would definately recommend more hinding spots if you want any to survive, but i think the swordtails are there biggest worry, but the fry are small and able to dodge most fish within an hour of being born, but you will defo need a floating plant :good:

ok thanks for the help il try and get a floating plant plant tomorrow, the sword tails are bad for eating fry and eggs, my uncle's sword tails ate all his fry he didnt have a chance to rescue them. How long do guppys stay pregnant before they give birth because some places ive read 2 weeks and other places ive read 4 weeks?

its normally about four, but how long have you had her?

any other ?s your welcome to PM me and i'll get back as soon as i can :)

ive had her just over a week and noticed she had a darkened spot on her back straight away, she looks as if she is going to explode as her stomach is huge, the other fish just keep following her around the tank especially the female sword tail. how can you tell if she's ogin to give birth??

she may square off around her stomach area, she may stay at the top in a corner she might even go and hide, you may notice she begins to breath faster, this is when she has gone into labour :good:
