i'm pretty sure my balloon molly is pregnant, but i'm not positive... i moved her into a separate tank away from the other fish so that if she has babies they'll have a better chance at survival. did i do the right thing? i'm not positive she's pregnant, but she has the spots. considering the situation, is it better that i separated her?

here's a pic of her spots. it's taken from slightly under her, so she looks huge, but she is a balloon molly so her size is pretty reasonable... those 2 spots are under the skin directly behind her anal fin.

any advice would be great. i know i've been posting a lot about this, but i'm at a loss....

I'm not that familiar with Balloon Mollies. I know their size should be even large when pregnant. It won't hurt her to be separated as long as the other tank is filtered and heated, so that is the right thing if you are hopind to save the fry.

All balloons look pregnant but thats just coz of their deformed body shape...
I've breed then about 15 years ago so cant remember how large they got but they do get very fat.

Your looks like she is but it's impossible to guess how far.

thats so not true they dont all look preg you can tell the difference when one is preg they get very huge and their bellys come out alot more then their head!

yea, i've decided that she's not pregnant, or at least not far in. thanks everyone!
